Day 5Thursday, November 5, 2015
“Then the devil taketh Him up into the holy city, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto Him, If thou be the Son of God, cast Thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” Matthew 4:5-7 KJV.
What's on the Menu?
Have at least a dozen soaked prunes for your first meal, and some honeydew melon and grapes for the second. Eat till hunger is satisfied. Bon appetite!
Breaking the Fast
What You Should Know
After long days of fasting, I’m sure you can exclaim with the psalmist, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made!” Now learn to use the best methods for post-fast TLC :-)
Read Today’s Thought
“Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” Matthew 4:7 KJV.
Can the Dead Speak to Us
Schedule Integration, Phase-out Programs, and Exercise Routines.
All potential schedule adjustments, supplement, medication, and treatment “phase-out” programs do not commence until after the 10th day of the program. So please continue with your normal regimens until further instruction is given. However, if you do not currently have an exercise program in place, please start by walking briskly for at least 20 minutes a day. Remember, it’s not exercise if you’re not sweating and your heart-rate does not rise :-)
Introducing, Phase 2: Fruit!
Your cleanse has come to an end. And though you’ll miss your lemon, maple, and cayenne (maybe lol), you must move on pass the “Waters of Marah” to enter the next phase of your journey: The Wilderness of Sin in Exodus 16:1. But be not afraid! As long as you keep Jesus at the forefront of your motives, guarding your heart and mind, you will come out more than a conqueror! Rest in the Lord, the fresh bounties flowing from the throne of grace await you! :-D
Get Your Proper Rest
View or download our handout to see how you can get 10 minutes of physical, mental, sensory, and emotional rest throughout the day! And do your absolute best to get anywhere between 7-9 hours of sleep every night, preferably with a bedtime before 9:30 pm. Getting your proper rest this way will greatly enhance your sleep at night as well as optimize your overall performance and ability to function at your best during the day :-)
Don't forget your Vitamin D!
You can get your daily dose of morning sun when you go for your 20-minute exercise walk (don’t forget to take deep inspirations every now and then). If you can’t fit a morning walk into your schedule, try 20 minutes in the evening. Or you can catch some noonday sun for 10 minutes between 10 am and 3 pm.
Proven to enhance your memory.
Throughout the course of our 40 Days Back to Eden journey, each week we’ll progressively commit to memory one verse of Scripture from Revelation 14:6-12, and one verse from the sacred hymn #506, “A Mighty Fortress is Our God.” This we’ll do to keep our minds sharp and well-versed with the faith we proclaim!
Your showers just got better.
After you’ve bathed as usual, take some Epsom salt in your hands and rub it all over your body in gentle, circular motions to give your skin a natural salt glow! Rinse, then alternate 3 times between hot (2 minutes) and cold (30 seconds), increasing and decreasing the temperature respectively as much as you can stand it. Finish with a cold towel rub, and dry as normal. This will enhance the overall circulation of the blood and stimulate the elimination of toxic waste.
Charcoal Poultice for what's this?
Bring equal parts (3 Tablespoons) of powdered charcoal and ground flaxseed to a boil while stirring to form a thick paste, spread a thick layer of it on a piece of cotton or cloth while hot (let cool slightly if you risk being burned) and apply it to the affected area (pimple, tumor, cist, etc.). Secure it with an ace bandage or strips from an old sheet or towel and leave it on overnight. Remove in the morning and rub the skin with a cold cloth. Repeat til affected area is healed.
